YouTube has removed a channel accused of being pro-Iranian after it published AI-generated videos mocking US President Donald Trump, the platform confirmed Wednesday.
The channel was known for distributing artificial intelligence-generated clips featuring LEGO-style characters and animated war scenarios portraying Trump alongside missile launches and fighter jets. The content gained widespread attention online, drawing millions of views across multiple platforms.
Since the escalation of the US-Israeli military campaign against Iran on February 28, Iranian-linked online media campaigns have increasingly used animated and AI-generated propaganda-style videos. One network, known as “Explosive Media,” has attracted significant online reach, presenting itself as independent while facing allegations of ties to the Iranian government.
A YouTube spokesperson told AFP that the channel was terminated for violating platform policies related to spam, deceptive practices, and fraud. The company said the suspension occurred on March 27 but did not provide further details.
“Explosive Media” continues to publish anti-US content on other platforms, including X and Telegram.
Reports from US media also indicate that Instagram, owned by Meta, removed the group’s account, although a separate profile under the same name remained active as of Wednesday. Meta has not commented on the matter.
The group’s English-language content appears designed for international audiences outside Iran, where platforms such as X have long been restricted and are typically accessed via virtual private networks.
“Explosive Media” has denied any links to the Iranian government, describing such allegations as misinformation.
