The company "YouTube" issued today, a statement in which it talked about its policy on the US elections; it revealed that it had removed many videos related to the elections.

YouTube stated that it became a platform for many to learn about the latest developments in the US elections: "Over the past weeks and months, we have seen people come to YouTube to learn more about where and how to vote or learn more about a candidate or problem."

"We have seen news organizations increase their audience. We have seen people turn to us for the latest election results or simply to follow a historic event."

YouTube added, "Our main goal in entering the election season was to make sure that we connect people with reliable information, while also limiting misinformation and removing harmful content."

The company headlined: "Remove content that violates our policy."

The company also stated: "Our Community Guidelines prohibit spam, scams, or other manipulated media, coordinated influence operations, and any content that seeks to incite violence."

"Since September, we have closed more than 8,000 channels and thousands of videos for violating our current policies. More than 77% of the videos were removed before they had 100 views."

It continued that "We are also working to make sure of what was removed and what is permitted, in order yo make sure that the users are getting the most accurate information."

"We also do not allow content that alleges fraud or widespread error to alter the outcome of the presidential election."

"However, in some cases, this has meant permitting controversial opinions about the outcome or the counting of votes in the current elections as election officials worked to end the count."

It concluded that " Yesterday was the deadline for the US presidential election, and enough states validated the election results to determine an elected president."

"We will begin removing any piece of content that was uploaded today or at any time after that, which misleads people by claiming that fraud or errors have altered the outcome of the 2020 US presidential election."
