Veteran Egyptian actress Yousra has opened up about whether or not she will participate in the Ramadan 2024 drama marathon.
In a statement to "Arab Wood", the acclaimed actress noted she has yet to decide if she will participate in the drama marathon and noted it she did it will be with a 15-episode series.
“I have 3 projects for Ramadan, but I don’t know whether I will join or not," she said. "Any project will be 15 episodes. I will not be able to do 30 episodes. I am still not sure whether I will participate in Ramadan.”
This comes after producer Gamal El Adl claimed that Yousra preferred not to star in any TV project and desired to rest this year.
“I spoke to her more than once to participate in the upcoming Ramadan marathon, but she preferred to rest. She is the owner of the company, not the daughter of the company, and I respected her desire,” he said.
Yousra participated last Ramadan with the TV series “1000 Hamdallah Ala Al Salama”.
The cast also included Mohamed Tharwat, Shaima Seif, Mayan El Sayed, Adam El Sharkawy, Otaka, and others.
Mahraganat singer Enba will make his acting debut in the upcoming series.
The series is penned by Mohamed Zulfiqar, helmed by Amro Salah, and produced by the El Adl Group.
Yousra, born on March 10, 1955, is an actress, a singer, a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
The iconic cinematic legend is one of the most recognizable names in the region and has been gracing the silver screen for more than 50 years.
Since the 1970s, Yousra has starred in some of the most important films in the history of Egyptian cinema, appearing in over 100 films.
Her roles in films and TV series continue to influence and inspire generations to this day.
