Today, Thursday, the Yemeni Minister of Civil Service, Dr. Abdel Nasser Al-Wali, was subjected to a failed assassination attempt by targeting his convoy with an explosive device.
Security sources in the interim Yemeni capital, Aden, confirmed that the minister survived the assassination attempt after his convoy was targeted on Al-Arish Road in the Khormaksar District, with an explosive device on his way to his workplace.
The sources indicated that there was another explosive device in the same way as the minister, but it did not explode and it was dismantled.
The information confirmed that the minister was not injured in the bombing, nor were there any injuries to the personnel accompanying him, except for minor material losses in one of the security crews accompanying him.
Dr. Al-Wali was on his way to attend a ceremony held this morning in his honor, organized by the Yemeni Medical Specializations Council and the Southern Orthopedic Association.
According to activists on social media, the attempt to assassinate the Yemeni minister came hours after thwarting a drone attack on the headquarters of the Aden governor and the General Secretariat of the Southern Transitional Council.
