Yemeni Government, Houthis Start Exchanging POWs Today

The Yemeni government negotiating team concerned with the file of prisoners of war(POWs ) announced today, Friday, the launch of the first phase of the process of exchanging the POWs between the government and the Houthi group, which will last for three days, under the joint auspices of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The government team stated in a statement reported by the Yemeni news agency "Saba" that during the first day of this stage, several POWs s will be transferred and exchanged through Aden and Sana'a airports, including Maj. Gen. Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, Minister of Defense, and Maj. Gen. Nasser Mansour Hadi, brother of former President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, is included in the UN Security Council resolution.

On the second day, the government will work to transfer and exchange another batch of POWs with the Houthi group through the airports of Abha in Saudi Arabia, Sana'a, Riyadh, and Mocha.

On the third and last day of this phase, the exchange process will take place through Sana'a and Tadaween airports in the Ma'rib governorate, including four journalists.
