Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council President Rashad Al-Alimi discussed with U.S. Ambassador to Yemen, Steven Fagin, the latest developments and the escalation by Houthi militants, as well as their human rights violations.
According to Yemen TV, the meeting also addressed the outcomes of diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation in Yemen and the region, as well as the available options to push the Houthis to seriously engage with regional and international efforts to end the suffering of the Yemeni people. Developmental interventions, including the protection of Yemen’s human heritage, were also discussed.
Al-Alimi reiterated the Council and the government’s commitment to a just peace based on agreed-upon national, regional, and international references, praising the United States' efforts to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people.
