Yedioth Ahronoth: Washington Rejects Israeli Request to Acquire Apache Helicopters

Israeli media reported, yesterday, Tuesday, that the US administration rejected an Israeli request to purchase Apache helicopters.

The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Tuesday evening that the US administration had rejected an Israeli request to obtain Apache helicopters, adding that Tel Aviv was exerting great pressure on Washington to bring more of these helicopters.

The newspaper pointed out on its website that Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant raised this problem in a closed discussion with his American counterpart, Lloyd Austin, the US Secretary of Defense, during the latter’s visit to Israel last week.

Israeli media had explained that the Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs, Ron Dermer, would discuss with senior officials in the US administration whether there was a delay in arms shipments sent to Tel Aviv.

The Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom reported that Ron Dermer is visiting Washington these days and discussing the reasons for delaying shipments or slowing down the sending of American arms shipments to Israel.
