Yesterday, Tuesday, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper revealed that the Israeli army is preparing to withdraw 5 brigades from the Gaza Strip, amid reports of the withdrawal of its tanks from several areas in the Strip.
The Israeli newspaper added, quoting an unnamed Israeli official, that there is a transition to a more focused phase, which will take six months.
The source continued: “Some of the soldiers who will leave the Gaza Strip will be prepared for an escalation scenario in the north of Israel, as the situation there cannot continue. The next six months are a critical period.”
The source confirmed, "The Israeli army is preparing to evacuate thousands of soldiers from the Gaza Strip, including reserve soldiers who will return to their families and jobs, in a move seen internationally as a response to American pressure to move to the third, less stringent zone of the war against Hamas."
The source said that this stage will be more targeting Hamas leaders and fighters in the Gaza Strip, and will continue for several months, he said.
