Xi Jinping Receives Putin in China

On Tuesday, Chinese President Xi Jinping received Russian President Vladimir Putin in China, describing him as a "dear friend."

Russian Foreign Minister announced: "President Xi Jinping greeted President Vladimir Putin on his arrival, the two leaders had a brief conversation."

Both leaders' meetings target discussing several topics like the bilateral ties between China, and Russia, and the current escalations in Gaza.

The visit of the Russian President to China came as Putin will participate in the forum of President Xi's trade and infrastructure Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The Kremlin added in a statement: "During the talks, special attention will be paid to international and regional issues."

On his side, Xi said, according to State News Agency Xinhua: "Although the world today is not peaceful, downward pressure on the global economy is increasing, and global development faces a great deal of challenges, we firmly believe that the historical trends of peace, development, cooperation, and mutual wins are unstoppable."
