Chinese President Xi Jinping has presented a four-point vision aimed at preserving and strengthening peace and stability in the Middle East.
In his remarks, Xi emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence, noting that countries in the region, including Gulf states, are neighbors who rely on one another and cannot change their geography.
He called for improving relations among regional nations and promoting the creation of a comprehensive and cooperative security framework to ensure long-term stability.
The Chinese president also stressed the importance of respecting national sovereignty, describing it as a fundamental pillar for the survival and development of all countries, particularly developing nations.
He urged full respect for the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of Middle Eastern countries, alongside concrete measures to protect their citizens and institutions.
Xi further highlighted the need to uphold international law, warning against its selective application.
He called for maintaining the global system centered around the United Nations and adhering to the principles outlined in the UN Charter, rejecting any return to a “law of the jungle” approach in global affairs.
Finally, he underscored the link between development and security, stating that security is a prerequisite for development, while development serves as a guarantee for security.
Xi affirmed China’s willingness to share its development opportunities with Middle Eastern countries, including those in the Gulf, to support regional growth and stability.
