Xi Jinping: Chinese GDP in 2020 Exceeds $15.3 Trillion   

Chinese President Xi Jinping said Thursday that China's GDP in 2020 exceeds 100 trillion yuan (15.38 trillion dollars), hoping that during the new year the world will enjoy stability, prosperity, security, and peace for all peoples.

Xi added - in today's speech on the occasion of the new year 2021 - “The year 2020 is completely extraordinary, and in the face of the sudden pandemic of the new Coronavirus (COVID 19), China has made great achievements in eliminating the effects of the deadly virus and comprehensive coordination between prevention and control work and economic and social development.

"We completed the implementation of the thirteenth five-year plan and drew the fourteenth five-year plan map", he said.

He added that the building of a new development pattern accelerated, and the implementation of high-quality development deepened.

The Chinese leader boasted that China was the first country in the world to achieve positive growth among the major economies in the world, and its GDP is expected to rise in 2020 to the level of 100 trillion yuan (15.38 trillion dollars).

He indicated that China has made important scientific explorations such as the" Tian Wen 1 "probe, the probe "Chang'e 5" and the submarine "Fen Duzhe", the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port has also begun actively."

Xi pointed out that "the year 2020 witnessed an achievement in terms of building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way, and a decisive victory in the battle to eradicate poverty, as about a hundred million rural poor were lifted out of poverty, and all 832 poor governorates emerged from the circle of poverty."

Xi pointed out that the year 2020 was full of difficulties, and everyone realized the importance of concerted efforts and cooperation to combat the epidemic.

"The year 2021 marks the centenary of the founding of the (ruling) Communist Party of China, and during this year China will continue the process of building the modern socialist state in a comprehensive way," the Chinese president said.

He expressed his hope to achieve stability in the world by the new year, and prosperity, safety, and peace for all peoples of the planet.
