The social media platform X and Reddit have returned to service after experiencing outages for thousands of US users on Thursday, according to outage tracking site Downdetector.
On its status page, Reddit said, "A fix has been implemented and we are monitoring the results," confirming the outage that affected the site at 3:16 p.m.
Downdetector, which tracks outages by compiling status reports from multiple sources, reported that more than 33,000 users reported issues with Reddit at the peak of the outage, according to Reuters.
Downdetector also noted that approximately 18,000 reports were received at the peak of the X outage, which began around 3:03 p.m.
The numbers provided by Downdetector are based on user reports, so the actual number of people affected by outages may differ from the number of reports.
