Elon Musk announced, on Sunday, the return of the X network to work in Brazil.
In September, Platform X announced the appointment of a legal representative in Brazil in a first step that could enable it to resume its services in the country, but a court decision ordered the ban to remain on it until it met other requirements.
Musk had decided to comply with Brazilian court orders, trying to end a months-long conflict that ended in millions of dollars in fines and ban his “X” social network in Latin America’s largest economy.
The company, formerly known as Twitter, also told the court that it had followed previous orders and banned accounts allegedly responsible for spreading hate speech and fake news, Bloomberg quoted sources, and seen by Al Arabia Business. The company has so far been resisting compliance with court orders.
In April, Musk vowed to challenge the orders of Judge Alexandre de Moraes, who is leading a judicial campaign against hate speech and fake news, to suspend certain accounts in the country. The world's richest man accused the judge of censorship, while Moraes opened a criminal investigation into Musk's case and accused him of spreading misinformation.
