The World Youth Forum (WYF) management announced, Monday, in a press conference attended by local and foreign media and held at the National Training Academy (NTA) headquarters, the launching of the fourth edition of the WYF, to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh, South Sinai, from 10 to 13 January 2022.
Dr. Racha Ragheb, the executive director of both the NTA and the world youth forum, welcomed the youth of Egypt and the world in her speech, noting that youth are a key factor in building the present and future of nations.
Ragheb reviewed the other work of the academy, stating that the NTA has been a journey of labor, selflessness, and sincere efforts since it was launched five years ago in Egypt.
She shed light on the prominent achievements of the academy, including training more than 28,370 Egyptian and African youth on leadership and innovation, besides training Egyptian deputy governors and members of judicial bodies and foreign representation offices, in addition to launching programs tailored for youth in a number of African countries.
Ragheb stated that humanitarian values, graciousness, and the renunciation of violence were the pillars that helped the world curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
She announced the WYF’s comeback in its fourth edition under the auspices of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, from 10 to 13 January 2022 in Sharm El Sheikh, following a long period of global closure.
She stressed that precautionary measures and social distancing will be adhered to throughout the duration of the forum.
On February 16, the UNCSocD approved the resolution, which was sponsored by Egypt and submitted by Senegal, Cape Verde, Portugal and Kazakhstan, including a special reference to the three editions of the WYF that was launched in Sharm el-Sheikh in 2017 as an international platform to discuss youth issues.
Egypt’s Permanent Representative to the UN Mohamed Idris stated that youths’ issues were currently a top priority on the UN agenda.
“It also comes as a recognition to the contributions of the three editions of the forum which tackled contemporary issues related to youth and their role in achieving the 2030 sustainable development agenda,” Idris added.
