WYF: PM, Congolese Environment Minister Discuss Bilateral Co-op

Egypt's Prime Minister (PM) Moustafa Madbouly held talks, on Wednesday, with Congolese Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development Eve Bazaiba Masudi, on the sidelines of the World Youth Forum (WYF), hosted in Sharm el-Sheikh.

The meeting was attended by Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mohamed Abdel-Aty, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, and the Congolese Ambassador to Egypt.

At the outset of the meeting, Madbouly praised the historic ties between Egypt and Congo, expressing his aspiration to increase the volume of cooperation between both countries in various fields.

The PM also affirmed Egypt's full support to Congolese leadership, government and people, to achieve unity and stability.

On her part, the Congolese Minister expressed her happiness to participate in the activities of the World Youth Forum (WYF) 4th edition, noting that she held meetings with a number of Egyptian officials, on the sidelines of the forum, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.

She also underwent interviews with some Egyptian media outlets, through which she invited Egyptian investors to visit congo, to explore promising investment opportunities in the country.

Masudi also pointed out the importance of the technical cooperation protocol, signed between the two countries for a period of five years between 2022-2027. Under its umbrella, the "Integrated Water Resources Management" project will be implemented to maximize the utilization of water resources and train technical cadres to manage these resources.

In addition, she hailed the inauguration of a weather warning center last July, in the presence of Egypt's Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, underling the need for this center in studying climate changes in the Congo and protecting citizens from its dangers.
