CAIRO, Nov. 3 (SEE)- In few minutes, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will commence the 2018 World Youth Forum (WYF) in Sharm El- Sheikh, the city of peace. The forum will tackle many topics featured under the theme of the late Egyptian intellect Milad Hanna’s  “7 Pillars of Egyptian Identity” book.

In the book, Hanna pointed out that the Egyptian personality is a mixture of various characteristics build up over the course of history.

The book is merely a reflection of how seven different civilizations impacted Egyptian society and what Egyptians contributed to them in various fields not limited to the economic or political events. The Pillars are; Pharonic, Greco-Roman, Islamic, Coptic, Arab, Mediterrnean and African eras.

Hanna stressed that nothing can affect the unity between Muslims and Copts in Egypt as what connects them is complex series of hardships and successful experiences.

This year more than 5000 youth from about 160 countries are meeting to share their views on various issues that lie within their sphere of interests.

Since youth are the catalyst for change, international media is paying special attention to the WYF 2018.

Kuwaiti newspaper ‘Al Anba’ published a story stating that the forum is an opportunity to restore Egypt's cultural and civilizational status as interaction and discussion among participants is one of the elements of rapprochement among peoples.

UAE’s ‘Gulf Paper’ noted that the second edition of the forum will discuss key issues such as peace, water security, humanitarian assistance and international responsibility in facing challenges as well as Euro-Mediterranean cooperation, based on a vision of strategic partnership and the role of soft power in the face of intellectual extremism and terrorism. It also discusses e-sports, employment opportunities.
