WUF12 Concludes It's Activities Today

The Twelfth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF12) is set to conclude today.

A significant event today will be the unveiling of the Cairo Call to Action, one of three key outcome documents that encapsulate the essential messages derived from WUF12.

Furthermore, participants will have the chance to engage in roundtable discussions focusing on civil society and academia, along with various partner-led initiatives.

The Closing Ceremony will include speeches from distinguished officials, featuring representatives from UN-Habitat and the Egyptian Government, as well as thought leaders and artistic performances.

The event will culminate with the formal transition to Baku, Azerbaijan, the host city for WUF13, signifying the next phase in the global pursuit of sustainable urbanization.

The Forum is organized by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in collaboration with the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt. It has attracted over 37,000 participants from more than 182 countries, including officials from national and local governments, urban planners, business executives, academics, and representatives from civil society organizations.

The WUF12 agenda featured 37 main sessions and over 500 partner-led events, all aimed at exploring practical solutions to the challenges of rapid urbanization and fostering innovation. The Urban Expo, which presented over 140 exhibitors showcasing interactive solutions pertaining to housing, transportation, and climate resilience.
