The WUF12 is making its return to Africa more than two decades after its establishment in Nairobi, Kenya, in 2002. This event will take place at the Cairo International Convention and Exhibition Center (CICC), a prominent facility specifically designed for hosting large international gatherings.

Cairo, renowned for its vibrant cultural heritage and lively urban landscape, will serve as a prime example of the various complexities and challenges faced by cities in the 21st century.

According to UN, WUF stands as the foremost global conference dedicated to urbanization, drawing a varied audience from around the world.

WUF12 will convene policymakers, urban practitioners, city planners, sustainability specialists, non-governmental organizations, and leaders from the private sector to examine the role of cities in driving global change and leveraging sustainable development in an increasingly urbanized environment.

The theme emphasizes that “it all starts at home; local actions for sustainable cities and communities.”

WUF12 will feature:

Keynote addresses from prominent global urban figures, including ministers of urban development and environment, mayors, international policymakers, and leading intellectuals.

High-level discussions and interactive sessions addressing critical issues such as affordable housing, urban resilience, climate action, and innovations in city planning.

Opportunities for networking with top experts and stakeholders from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

Exhibition areas highlighting innovative urban solutions and advanced technologies from across the globe.

A platform focused on youth engagement to inspire the next generation of urban planners and advocates.

This event presents a unique opportunity for urban professionals, leaders, and thinkers to share insights, promote collaboration, and shape the future of sustainable urban development.
