The world celebrates the annual International Tea Today on 21st May.
It was celebrated for the first time in India in 2005 to raise common's awareness of the sustainable usage of the beverage.

In addition, the day targets promoting awareness of the health benefits of the beverage.
The UN website said: "International Tea Day "will promote and foster collective actions to implement activities in favor of the sustainable production and consumption of tea and raise awareness of its importance in combating hunger and poverty."

The date commemorates the signing of the First International Tea Agreement in 2005 which focuses on promoting tea production, consumption, and cultural aspects.
