The World Bank Group is set to host the 13th edition of its annual Youth Summit on June 11–12, 2026, bringing together thousands of young participants from around the world to discuss the future of work and the challenges facing the next generation.

Held under the theme “Future Business: Designing Jobs for the Digital Age,” this year’s summit will explore how emerging technologies and shifting economic models are reshaping labor markets globally, particularly for young people entering the workforce.

The event will take place both in person at the World Bank Group’s headquarters in Washington and through regional activities and virtual participation across multiple countries and regions.

According to the organizers, the 2026 edition will center around three main pillars: education and skills development, entrepreneurship, and agriculture. Discussions will focus on how governments, institutions, and young innovators can help create employment opportunities aligned with the demands of an increasingly digital and technology-driven global economy.

The Youth Summit is considered the largest annual event organized by the World Bank for individuals aged 18 to 35. The initiative aims to empower young people to develop innovative solutions to development challenges while equipping them with practical tools to participate in projects with measurable social and economic impact.

The summit also serves as a platform for dialogue between youth communities, international institutions, policymakers, and development partners, as the World Bank seeks to deepen engagement with younger generations on issues ranging from employment and sustainability to digital transformation and economic inclusion.

Organizers expect this year’s discussions to place particular emphasis on the growing need for adaptive workforce skills as automation, artificial intelligence, and digital platforms continue to transform traditional industries worldwide.
