Carmen Reinhardt, senior economist in the World Bank (WB) said that rising prices of energy, and food due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, may lead to worsening fears of the standing food security in the Middle East and Africa.

She added that crises of food lead to escalating social troubles.

It is worth noting to Germany is going to host a conference of agriculture ministers of 7 Great Group (7G) tomorrow amid growing fears linked to the stability of food markets.

She stressed over an interview with” Reuters” that countries in the ME, North Africa, Sub-Sahara suffer from the absence of food security.

Reinhardt warns that riots of is known as “ Arab Spring” were related to cries of the absence of food security.

The World Bank revealed last month that agricultural commodities rose by 35% on an annual basis on the backdrop of war in Ukraine.
