Women and Child Killed in Israeli Strike on Gaza

Two women and a child were killed and four others injured in an Israeli strike on a residential apartment in Gaza City, Cairo News reported, citing an initial toll.

The strike targeted an apartment in the city, causing casualties among civilians as Israeli military operations continued across several parts of the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian media reports said Israeli aircraft also carried out attacks on western areas of Gaza City, alongside continued shelling and military activity in other areas of the enclave.

Ambulance and civil defence teams were working to transfer the wounded and recover victims from the site of the strike, according to the reports.

The latest attack comes amid renewed concern over the humanitarian situation in Gaza, where civilians continue to face the impact of ongoing military operations and damage to residential areas.

Earlier in January, the United States announced the start of the second phase of President Donald Trump’s plan to end the crisis in Gaza. The phase includes increasing humanitarian aid, launching reconstruction efforts, and forming a transitional Palestinian technocratic committee to administer Gaza under the supervision of the “Peace Council”.
