With summer right around the corner, we all want to smell clean and fresh but sometimes deodorant and mouthwash just aren’t enough, so, here are a few foods to get rid of the bad breath and terrible body odor.

• Bad Breath

1. Parsley, Peppermint and Spearmint

These fresh herbs contain some strong oils that help cover the unpleasant scents. They act like a natural mouthwash that temporarily masks the bad breath, they also leave a nice smell behind.

2. Milk

According to a 2010 study from Ohio State University, it was found that drinking beverages with a high water content and some fat while eating helps reduce bad breath specially the garlic breath seeing as it reduces the Sulphur compounds in garlic that give it its strong smell.

3. Yogurt

Yogurt is full of probiotics that neutralizes the bad breath seeing as it lowers the odor-causing sulfite in the alimentary canal. It is also a source of vitamin D that fights mouth bacteria.

• Body Odor

1. Citrus Fruits

Fresh citrus fruits like lemons and oranges can help in decreasing the musky odors that linger on the skin seeing as the acids in them flush water through the body. They also contain fiber that moves through the system slowly and flush out toxins that cause body odors.

2. White Fish

Studies show that eating red meat causes bad body odor because while the body breaks down the protein in meat, the skin secretes bad odors but fortunately that doesn’t happen when digesting white fish like tilapia and cod.
