Will Macron Win Second Presidential Term?

opinion .

Days earlier, French President Emanuel Macron, in presence of a large audience of  French and foreign pressmen, revealed the broad lines of his electoral program for the upcoming presidential elections.

Macron said that the world is standing now at crossroads so France can make a difference.

He pledged to lead his country to pass what he called “a time of new crises” if he wins the second presidential term.

The first presidential term of Macron was full of events such as the “ Yellow Vest Movement”  as an expression of social and economical problems that threaten France.

It is worth noting that Macron is the youngest president throughout the history of France.

Macron was the former minister of the economy with social President Francois Holland ascended to a zenith in 2017 when he was at 39.

He employed effectively his image as a politician neither rightist nor leftist.

He also benefitted from the deteriorating of the traditional political parties in France.

Macron’s life resembles a multi-colored album.

He started life with a shining educational career as he went to some prominent schools and institutions in the country.

He joined Henry 4 Institute in Paris (2001) then went to the Institute of Political Sciences in Paris (Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris) and the National School of Administration      École nationale d'administration) in Strasburg  (2002-2004) along with other well-famed educational institutes.

During his schooling, Macron fell in love with the teacher of the French language named Brigitte Trogneux when he was  16.

This dame played a basic role in forming a dazzling career for Macron at levels of his professional and political career.

After graduation from the National School of Administration in 2004, he worked as a general inspector of finance.

In 2008, he left the realm of administration to have a position in Rothschild Bank where he discovered secrets of banking and finance.

In 2012, Macron worked for the socialist President Francois Holland as an economical adviser.

Holland picked Macron as Minister of Economy to replace Arnaud Montebourg who resigned his post then.

Macron served as minister for two years between 2014-2016) before he founded his movement Forward ( in French: La République en Marche).

He attracted thousands of supporters, the majority of them being young people who considered Macron a leading until he won the presidency of France.

No one can foresee that Macron could enjoy that presidential victory.

Also, nobody could imagine that the two traditional political left or right polarities, which imprint the history of the Fifth Republic in France, could lose in the second round of the presidential elections in France.

The land sliding quake took place then in France, even either leftist or rightist electorate voted for that young candidate.

But today, I’m confident that Frenchmen will vote for Macron due to firstly of the weakness of personalities and programs of his competitors and secondly the consequences of war in Ukraine as panic sweeps over all Frenchmen as well as Europeans.

The rising cost of living sheds dark shadows on daily life making punitive voting excluded throughout this period.
