A widespread power outage disrupted large parts of Georgia for a second consecutive day, leaving thousands without electricity and affecting essential services, according to local reports.
The blackout struck the capital, Tbilisi, as well as the cities of Ozurgeti, Poti and Rustavi. Water supply was disrupted in parts of Tbilisi after pumping stations lost power, while traffic lights and many businesses were also left without electricity.
Power companies have not yet issued an official explanation for the repeated outages.
Georgia experienced a similar nationwide blackout on 24 July, with electricity taking several hours to be fully restored.
