WHO: Victims of Violence in Sudan Exceeds1,000

 According to the World Health Organization (WHO), ongoing violence in Sudan has resulted in over 1,000 fatalities, with more than 12,000 people injured and over 3 million displaced.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called on all parties in Sudan to "halt attacks on healthcare facilities and ensure aid reaches everyone."

The Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has initiated a new investigation into war crimes in Sudan, expressing "grave concern" over the current conflict.

Since April 15th, Sudan has been engulfed in battles between the army led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo. Attempts at de-escalation have failed, exacerbating the suffering of the country's population, which was already among the world's poorest prior to the war.
