The World Health Organization (WHO) representative in Lebanon, Abdel-Nasser Abu Bakr, confirmed that Israel's deliberate targeting of infrastructure in Lebanon, including bridges, has severely complicated the delivery of aid and health services.

In an interview with Cairo News Channel on Tuesday, the WHO representative stated that the targeting of infrastructure, coupled with security restrictions and movement difficulties, is hindering relief teams' access to the most vulnerable groups. He added that they are working to find alternative mechanisms to ensure the continued provision of health support.

He further stated that approximately 70,000 Lebanese remain in the southern regions and have been unable to flee, including the elderly and people with disabilities who are unable to leave their homes. He emphasized that medical teams are continuing to provide them with care despite the challenges.

The WHO representative explained that the organization is working closely with other UN agencies to provide healthcare to displaced Lebanese.
