The fifth episode of “The Masked Singer: Who are you”, screened Wednesday on “mbc1” TV channel, featuring Egyptian iconic actress Nadia El Gendy as the face behind the "Queen Nefertiti" mask.
El Gendy dressing up as "Queen Nefertiti" was the biggest surprise on the program. None of the investigators expected that she would be the face behind the mask.
The investigators believed that the owner of the mask belonged to one of 3 celebrties, namely Esaad Younes, Elham Shahin, and Nabila Obaid.
El Gendy surprised the panelists when she took her mask off and revealed her identity.
She expressed her admiration of the idea of the show, explaining that she does not appear often on television programs, but this program is different, noting she was very excited when she appeared in the character of Queen Nefertiti.
El Gendy trended on the top-trending searches on Google, in Egypt, after the premiere of the episode.

The idea of the show revolves around guessing the name of the star disguised, this task is left for the panelists who are given various clues alluding to the celebrities’ identities to guess who they could be after each performs. The audience can also participate from their homes.
In each episode, the show panelists Qusai Khouli, Cyrine Abdelnour, Hassan El-Raddad, and Mouhnned al-Hamdi, try to figure out who is the artist hidden under the mask.
Arab stars from different generations and fields are set to participate in the show. The show audience participates from home the team of investigators in revealing the the identity of the stars, by voting and excluding one of the participants to reveal his identity, at the end of each episode of the show, which is hosted by Annabella Hilal.
It is based on the international music game show franchise of the same name, which originated from the South Korean program, “King of Mask Singer”.
