The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) appointed Carlos Queiroz as the Egyptian national team new head coach to succeed former manager Hossam El Badry.

The Portuguese started his football career in 1989 as he led Portugal's U-17 national team till 1991. He guided his national team to lift Euro under 17 title in 1989, as well as, claiming World Cup title in 1989 and 1991.
He moved to lead Greece's Nagoya Grampus club from 1996 till 1998. He led them to reach Asian Cup Winners' Cup final, but losing to Saudi's Al Hilal 3-1.
He was appointed as UAE's manager in 1999 and left them in 2000 to lead South Africa. His most prominent carer was in 2002, when he was named to be the assistant manager of Man Utd's manager Alex Ferguson.
The Portuguese moved to lead Real Madrid and guided them to win Spanish Super Cup. He led Portugal's national team in World Cup, but he failed to qualify for last 16 to be sacked by the football governing body in Portugal.
Then, he was appointed as Iran's head coach and led them to qualify for the World Cup two times.
