In a move reflecting Egypt's growing prominence on the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology map, and following extensive international competition to obtain WHO accreditation as a regional center specializing in building human capacity for biomanufacturing,
Egypt participated in the high-level international conference organized by the WHO in Geneva, Switzerland, entitled “Synergizing Biomanufacturing Workforce Development.” The conference, held from June 3-5, followed the accreditation of the Egyptian Drug Authority's Continuing Professional Development Center as a regional training center for biomanufacturing in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. This makes it one of only six internationally accredited centers within the Global Biomanufacturing Workforce Development Initiative.
Egypt's participation in this conference comes after the Egyptian Drug Authority's accreditation as a Regional Training Centre (RTC) for biomanufacturing in the Eastern Mediterranean Region, under the WHO's Biomanufacturing Workforce Development Initiative (BWTI). This step reflects Egypt's advanced standing at both the regional and international levels in the fields of pharmaceutical regulation and capacity building.
