WHO: Egypt Is One of 1st African Countries to Produce Coronavirus Vaccines

Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), announced the first 6 African countries that began producing their own Coronavirus vaccines, including Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa and Tunisia.

During his speech on the second day of the EU-Africa Summit, with the participation of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, WHO's Director-General added that the organisation will work with companies and governments in each country to develop a roadmap for training and production based on their needs and capabilities.

Dr. Ghebreyesus thanked all those working on the project that is helping the organization produce vaccines in all these countries, stressing that the organization is looking forward to everyone's cooperation for a healthier and safer Africa.
