The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, arrived in Ukraine on Sunday,
"The organization stands with the people of Ukraine,” he tweeted.
During his visit, WHO boss will hold meetings to discuss the need to intensify aid and support for victims of Russian military attacks in the country, according to the Ukrainian (Interfax) news agency.
"I arrived in Ukraine, as a child in war, I know how children and adults trapped in this war feel," Ghebreyesus added. "I want to assess how the World Health Organization can increase its support for them and I will also meet with our staff here, they are doing a tremendous job under very difficult circumstances."
