WHO: 800,000 People Contract Coronavirus Worldwide in One Day

Today, Saturday, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that coronavirus ( COVID-19) infected about 800 thousand in the world, during the past 24 hours.

The organization indicated that the death toll from confirmed cases of the Coronavirus that causes "COVID-19" disease worldwide increased during the last day by 799,712 infections, more than a third of them in the United States, where 177,195 cases were detected.

WHO stated that it recorded - within the last 24 hours - 15,454 new deaths caused by the deadly virus in the world, and the United States tops in this blacklist also with 4 thousand and 176 deaths.

On the other hand, WHO announced, a short while ago, that 15 thousand daily deaths were recorded for the first time since the beginning of the Corona pandemic, "COVID-19", according to what was published on Al-Arabiya channel in its urgent news.

WHO has confirmed that the countries of the Eastern Mediterranean Region have reported more than 5 million cases of COVID-19 disease and 123,725 deaths since the first cases were reported in the region.

"The past year was a very difficult year for all of us," said Dr. Ahmed Al-Mandhari, Director of the World Health Organization for the Eastern Mediterranean Region.
