White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the shooting during the White House Correspondents' Dinner represents "the third major assassination attempt against Trump," noting that "no American president in history has faced such threats."
During a press conference, Leavitt added: "Our political differences must be resolved peacefully.
Political violence stems from elected Democratic officials and certain media outlets."
She continued: "It is natural for us to have major disagreements, but this must be characterized by a peaceful approach, not by bullets."
