The Wall Street Journal, quoting White House sources, reported that U.S. President Donald Trump remains open to a diplomatic solution with Iran, despite the current deadlock in negotiations between the two sides.

According to these sources, Trump has ordered a naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

This move aims to end what Washington describes as "Iranian blackmail" regarding vital international waterways.

In a significant escalation of the ongoing confrontation, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced its intention to impose a comprehensive naval blockade on Iranian ports, effective April 13 at 10:00 AM.

CENTCOM stated in a formal communique that the blockade will encompass all Iranian ports along the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.

The command emphasized that the operation will target all commercial vessels of any nationality, whether entering or departing from Iranian coasts.
