The American website Axios reported that the White House intends to hold a meeting for leaders of the "Gaza Peace Council" on February 19, according to a U.S. official and diplomats from four member states.

The report clarified that the purpose of the meeting is to advance the implementation of the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and to raise the necessary funds for reconstruction.

If the meeting proceeds as planned, it is expected to coincide with the upcoming visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the United States, or at least precede his participation in the annual AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) Policy Conference, scheduled for February 22–24.

According to the report, President Donald Trump's administration has begun reaching out to dozens of countries to invite leaders and discuss logistics.

The meeting is expected to be held at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) in Washington.

One source told Axios: "Nothing has been confirmed yet, but the administration is planning for it and has begun checking which leaders are able to attend."
