U.S. President Joe Biden will hold his 1st meeting with Group seven (G7) leaders on Friday virtually, White House said in a statement on Sunday.

They will discuss ways to confront the Coronavirus, the global economy, and the group's dealing with China.

"This virtual meeting with leaders of the world's leading democratic market economies will be an opportunity for President Biden to discuss plans to defeat the COVID-19 epidemic and rebuild the global economy," the statement added.

"President Biden will also discuss the need for investments to enhance our collective competitiveness capabilities and the importance of modernizing global rules to meet economic challenges such as those posed by China," the statement read.
