White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that President Donald Trump has been briefed on Iranian proposals regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

During a press conference, Leavitt added: "We have no information regarding the progress of mine-clearing operations in the Strait of Hormuz." She noted that Trump met with his national security team this morning to discuss Iran's proposal for reopening the strategic waterway.

According to the Wall Street Journal, officials reported that Iran presented mediators with a new offer to open the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for ending the war and lifting the blockade.

The proposal, presented by Abbas Araghchi, aims to break the deadlock in the conflict and jumpstart negotiations.

The report indicated that Araghchi’s proposal includes postponing discussions regarding Iran's nuclear program.

Sources confirmed that Washington has not yet responded to the new Iranian offer.
