White House: King Abdullah II Meets with Biden

The White House said, on Thursday, that US President Joe Biden will meet with King Abdullah II of Jordan.

The King of Jordan, and Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, met earlier Thursday, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin at the headquarters of the "Pentagon".

During the meeting, King Abdullah affirmed his country's keenness to enhance stability in the region, noting that the region's future requires standing together against its challenges.

Earlier, the White House affirmed that Jordan is a critical force for stability in the Middle East and a strategic partner and ally of the United States.

“US President Joe Biden will receive King Abdullah II of Jordan, and Crown Prince Al Hussein, on Friday, at the White House,” according to a statement issued by the White House.

The Jordanian king’s visit to Washington is the second in the Biden era, and amid to strengthen the close and steadfast friendship between the United States and Jordan.

A US-Jordanian summit will be held in Washington next Friday, where Jordan’s King Abdullah II will gather with US President Joe Biden at the White House.

The Jordan News Agency (Petra) stated that the summit will address the strategic partnership between the two countries and ways to enhance it in various fields, in addition to the latest regional and international developments.
