WhatsApp is developing a new privacy feature that allows users to hide sensitive parts of messages behind a blurred layer, adding another level of protection for private conversations.
According to reports from WABetaInfo, users will be able to mark selected text as hidden content, meaning recipients must tap the blurred section to reveal the message.
The upcoming feature is designed to give users greater control over sensitive information shared in chats, particularly in group conversations where some details may not be intended for immediate viewing.
The privacy tool could also help users share spoilers, confidential details, or personal comments more discreetly.
Initial support is expected for text messages and media captions, with future updates likely to expand the feature to photos and videos.
The feature is currently under internal testing and is expected to roll out soon to beta users on both iOS and Android before a wider global release.
