WhatsApp is testing new features borrowed from Instagram like the "Status" feature, which was launched in 2017, and has not been very popular among users.
WhatsApp plans to make "Status" more popular among users, like Instagram Stories, according to a report issued by WABetaInfo. The app will circle the image of each person in the list of conversations, through which you can click on the image and see the post.
Currently, users can only see their friends' "Status" by entering the "States" menu, which is completely different from the list of conversations.
Last month, the messaging platform officially rolled out a new feature to add 32 contacts in a single WhatsApp audio group call.
The announcement will make a big change for the app users as earlier only eight participants were allowed at a time in an audio call. Reports also indicated that iPhone users can add up to four times more participants than earlier!
A screenshot has surfaced online showing that reads, “Group calls now support 32 participants and includes an updated interface with a social audio layout, speaker highlight and waveforms.”
