WhatsApp officially rolled out a new feature to add 32 contacts in a single WhatsApp audio group call, Sky News reported on Saturday.
The announcement will make a big change for the app users as earlier only eight participants were allowed at a time in an audio call. Reports also indicated that iPhone users can add up to four times more participants than earlier!
A screenshot has surfaced online showing that reads, “Group calls now support 32 participants and includes an updated interface with a social audio layout, speaker highlight and waveforms.”
Last week, the app revealed that it is building a ‘Communities’ feature to organize groups for businesses and schools.
“At the center of every Community on WhatsApp is a description and menu of groups that people can choose to join. This provides a structure and organization to conversations among larger and more complex groups that allow people to focus on what matters to them,” the company said.
“That way people can receive updates sent to the entire Community and easily organize smaller discussion groups on what matters to them.”.
