All of these hotels have their own extraordinary stories to tell, about ferocious wars that have happened, royals and presidents who have spent the night.

* Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan, Egypt

The Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Hotel, also known as the Old Cataract Hotel, is a historic British colonial-era 5-star luxury resort hotel located on the River Nile banks in Aswan.

The hotel was built in 1899 by Thomas Cook to house European travelers. Its guests have included Tsar Nicholas II, Winston Churchill, Howard Carter, Margaret Thatcher, Jimmy Carter, François Mitterrand, Princess Diana, Queen Noor and Agatha Christie, who write portions of her novel Death on the Nile at the hotel.

Also, in 1973 United States Secretary of State Dr Henry Kissinger and his aides stayed in the New Cataract Hotel during the negotiations to end the October War.

*Hotel Fasano Rio de Janeiro

Hotel Fasano Rio de Janeiro is Located on Rio de Janeiro’s legendary Ipanema Beach. The staff wears Ocimar Versolato–inspired uniforms. Distinctly Brazilian materials like "Îpe flooring" and the "enormous piquiá" tree stump used for the reception desk are mixed with Grecian marble, 19th-century Argentinean brick and Chinese onyx.

The guest rooms have Sergio Rodrigues furnishings and Starckian ear-shaped mirrors and come with private balconies affording sweeping views. Also, the "Al Mare restaurant" explores perse aspects of Mediterranean cuisine, with a special focus on seafood, while the "Fasano Spa" offers relaxing therapies and treatments.

Old Cataract Hotel

*Beit El-Mamlouka

Beit El-Mamlouka is a luxury boutique hotel located in the Damascus old city, Syria. It was established in 2005 in the city's oldest borough, the Christian quarter of Bab Touma.

The hotel is a restoration of a 17th-century Damascene house and offers 8 different rooms each named after a famous historic figure of Arab or Muslim history, such as: Averroes and Baybars. There are original paintings and features from the 18th century.

* The Ritz Paris Hotel

Ritz Paris is located on Place Vendôme, the Ritz Paris is much more than a prestigious address. It possesses that indescribable charm and history that make it one of the most legendary hotels in the Light City.

The hotel was founded in 1898 by the Swiss hotelier César Ritz in collaboration with the French chef Auguste Escoffier. The hotel was constructed behind the facade of an 18th-century town house. It was among the 1st hotels in Europe to provide an special bathroom, electricity, and a telephone for each room.

Several of its suites are named in honour of famous guests of the hotel including Coco Chanel, and the cocktail lounge Bar Hemingway pays honoring to writer Ernest Hemingway.

 

*La Posta Vecchia Hotel

La Posta Vecchia is a stunning 17th century seaside palace, immersed in beautiful Italian gardens and overlooking the Mediterranean sea, offers guests the luxurious and peaceful.

The villa was built in 1640 for members of the powerful Orsini dynasty, over remains of the ancient Roman settlement of Alsium. In later centuries the villa served as more humble Carriage House for mail stages travelling up the Rome coast north, hence the name: La Posta Vecchia.

*La Grande Dame' of Angkor hotel

Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor is a historic luxury hotel located in Siem Reap, Cambodia. First opened in 1932, it was established by French town planner Ernest Hébrard to accommodate the early explorers and tourists visiting the world heritage site of Angkor Wat.

La Grande Dame' of Angkor hotel was acquired by Raffles Hotels and Resorts in 1994 and reopened in 1997, following an extensive restoration. Regarded as the last bastion of the golden age of travel in Cambodia. The 119-room property is one of the few remaining great colonial hotels in Asia.

The hotel welcomed a long list of famous personalties such as Charlie Chaplin, Paulette Goddard, Victor Goloubew, Princess Margaret, Lord Snowdon, Jacqueline Kennedy, Charles de Gaulle, Sultan Ibrahim Al-Masyhur, Queen Sofía, Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, Lee Hsien Loong, José Carreras, Roger Moore, Chris Noth, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama.
