On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump and Joe Biden, the presidential candidate for 2020 elections, took to Twitter following their debate, held yesterday evening, and sent a large number of tweets and re-tweets about the event.

Trump has long used Twitter as a platform to communicate with his followers and often criticizes political opponents directly on the social media. However, Trump mainly relied on other users' tweets to make his point about the debate.

The president was keen to highlight his support among police officers. The Fraternal Order of Police, the nation's largest police union, has endorsed him.

"The American people want LAW & ORDER — Joe Biden won't even say those words!" Trump tweeted, later adding: "Joe Biden could not name a single Law Enforcement group that supports his candidacy!"

Trump also repeated his criticism of Biden and the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 200,000 Americans have died from the virus but the president claimed on Tuesday that more lives would have been lost if Biden had been president.

"Joe wants to shut down this Country. I want to keep it OPEN!" he tweeted. "If we listened to Joe Biden on coronavirus, millions of people would have died!"

Trump also shared a number of tweets from supportive social media users, some with verified blue ticks. All were supportive of the president and many harshly criticized both Biden and Wallace.

The last tweet Trump shared about last night's debate was from former congressman and current Republican congressional candidate Darrell Issa, who's running in California's 50th district.

"Tonight, Joe Biden made it clear that if he's elected he's prepared to perpetually lockdown the American people, shut the economy down again, and make sure schools stay closed," Issa wrote. "That statement alone makes it worth fighting every day between now and November 3rd."

On the other hand, Biden also criticized Trump, asking him, "Can you name one thing he said to actually make your life better?"

Biden also tweeted, "Under this president, we have become weaker, sicker, poorer, more pided, and more violent. When I was vice president, we inherited a recession, I was asked to fix it, and I did. We left Donald Trump a booming economy, and he caused a recession."

The Presidential candidate also accused Trump that he isn't a law and order president, saying, "He's a president who breaks the law and creates disorder."
