Following a fruitful meeting between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken earlier today, Wednesday, both sides expressed their pleasure for talking and meeting in Cairo.
“Today, I had the honor of receiving Secretary of State of the United States of America Mr. Antony Blinken," Sisi posted on his official social media platforms.
He added: "Together, we consulted on various political, security, and regional issues, affirming the long-standing, strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States as well as its pivotal role in supporting security and stability in the Middle East region."
On his part, Blinken said that "Important meeting with Egyptian President Sisi today. I conveyed President Biden’s appreciation for Egypt’s critical mediation efforts in support of a ceasefire and affirmed the strategic partnership between the United States and Egypt."
