The World Food Programme (WFP) has called for safe and unhindered access to deliver humanitarian aid to hundreds of thousands of people in Jonglei State, South Sudan, amid worsening conditions.
In a statement, the UN agency stressed the urgent need to allow humanitarian convoys to reach vulnerable communities facing food insecurity and displacement.
The WFP also appealed to all parties involved in the conflict in Sudan to immediately halt military operations, underscoring that continued fighting is obstructing humanitarian efforts and worsening the suffering of civilians.
