The World Food Programme (WFP) has announced plans to provide over $2 billion in support for Ukraine as part of its temporary strategic plan for the country.
The initiative, which covers the 2025–2027 period, has been approved by the WFP Executive Board, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
The $2.1 billion budget will focus on humanitarian assistance, providing critical aid to civilians affected by ongoing conflict and economic instability.
Key priorities include demining efforts to enhance safety in affected areas and bolstering Ukraine's agricultural export capacity to ensure the continued supply of food products to global markets.
This plan reflects Ukraine’s strategic importance in the global food supply chain and addresses urgent needs created by the war’s disruption.
The aid package underscores the international community's commitment to supporting Ukraine through immediate relief and long-term recovery initiatives.
