The governor of West Darfur has described the Sudanese army’s recent gains in the city of Al-Tina as the beginning of restoring security across the Darfur region.
In his remarks, the governor said the army’s advances mark a significant step toward stabilizing the volatile western region, which has witnessed months of intense fighting.
He stressed that the battle for Al-Tina represents a strong push toward broader stability, noting that the Sudanese state remains determined to assert its authority and enforce the rule of law throughout Darfur.
“The state is moving forward in imposing its sovereignty and restoring order,” the governor said, underlining what he described as growing momentum in favor of the national army.
The statements come amid ongoing clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces in several parts of Darfur, as the conflict continues to reshape the security landscape in the region.
