The World Economic Forum (WEF) is sceduled to kick off tomorrow Monday and will run until Friday. The activities of the forum, which is held annually in the Swiss resort of Davos, will be conducted through the Zoom application in light of the "Covid-19" crisis.

WEF will open with a discussion on the global economic recovery from the "COVID-19" pandemic, while Chinese President Xi Jinping will deliver his first special speech to the forum at noon. The speech is expected to greatly affect the general character of the forum.

On the other hand, a special annual meeting of the forum for this year is expected to be held during the period 13-16 May in Singapore as the impact of the pandemic.

The WEF website said the COVID-19 pandemic showed that no single institution or inpidual can address the economic, environmental, social, and technological challenges of our complex and interconnected world.

The website added that the pandemic has accelerated the systemic changes that were evident before its emergence, and the fault lines that appeared in 2020 are now emerging as a critical crossroads in 2021.

It stated that the time to quickly rebuild trust and make critical choices is approaching as the need to reset priorities and the urgency of reforming systems around the world grows.
