The US National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan, stressed that the timing of the start of the Russian-Ukrainian peace talks cannot be predicted.
Sullivan also confirmed in televised statements that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky himself said that this war would end "diplomatically", according to Al Arabiya.net.
The US official also said that the development of events on the battlefield will greatly influence the future of the Kyiv-Moscow dialogue.
He also added, "The Ukrainian counterattack will lead to the return of strategically important regions."
The Russian army had announced raids in recent days on Ukrainian air defense batteries, air bases, gathering centers for forces and ammunition, military production factories, command and control points, and other locations on the battlefield.
The long-range strikes come as Ukraine is preparing or already launching a long-awaited counter-offensive in which it hopes to regain more ground.
